description

Ingredients: 100% Organic Matcha Traditional, 1st & 2nd Harvest
Cultivar: Oshii Blend of Saemidori, Okumidori and Yabukita
Character: This organic matcha combines a natural sweetness and rounded umami in the first harvest, while the second harvest delivers more vibrant, green and bitter tea notes – perfect for pure enjoyment or creamy matcha latte creations.
Area: Uji, Kyoto – Japan
Harvest: 2025
Marriage: Granite stone mill from Uji (approx. 30 g per hour)
Damping: short damping period (approximately 20 seconds)
Shading: Up to 32 days of full shading before harvest
Bio: EU Organic, JAS Organic, FSSC Japan
Quality: Ceremonial Grade, predominantly first harvest leaves

The high-quality Traditional Matcha from Uji is made from Tencha leaves of the first and second harvests of the year and has a more intense flavor than our classic Ceremonial Matcha. The growing region boasts pure water, fertile soil, and pesticide-free cultivation. The fresh Tencha leaves are carefully harvested by hand, gently steamed, and traditionally ground with stone mills.

Our certified organic matcha is characterized by its bright green color and a full-bodied, creamy umami flavor without noticeable bitterness.
A notice: Store in a cool, dry place.

What is Matcha?

What is Matcha?

Matcha is ground green tea in its purest form, but contains more secondary plant substances (color, fragrance, and aroma substances) and is therefore better than the conventional green tea.
What characterizes Matcha powder is a high proportion of healthy antioxidants that support the immune system and counteract the aging process. Because unlike green tea, where the tea leaves only pull in the hot water, you can drink the grinded tea leaves completely at Matcha. The taste is all the more intense.

quality guarantee

For our organic Matcha traditional with Ceremonial Grade Leaves from the first and second harvest are used in spring. These are mild and yet intense in taste and differ qualitatively (taste and color) from all subsequent harvests that follow in the further months of the year.
Another difference in quality is harvesting and processing by hand.
Hardly any machines are used in the harvest of our matcha. The first leaves are picked by hand, gently steamed and ground with granite stones.

The extension takes place without pesticides. Annual soil samples, as well as laboratory tests regarding the heavy metal and radiation exposure, are carried out in order to be able to deliver the best possible quality. In addition, each batch is carefully checked for its mineral property.

Our quality is confirmed by strict standards of the eco-certificate of the Japanese certification body Jona and the German organic certification.

  • production

Our tea farm is a traditional family business that has been in operation for several generations and has been producing organic matcha for several decades.

Our quality is confirmed by the strict standards of the organic certificate from the Japanese certification body JONA and the German organic certification.

  • Cultivation

The tea farmers protect the plants from the sun with black textile sheets or, traditionally, straw. Solar panels are also used. This increases the chlorophyll content in the leaves and softens the flavor. Cultivation is carried out without pesticides. Annual soil samples are taken, as well as laboratory tests for heavy metal and radiation contamination, to ensure the highest possible quality. Furthermore, each batch is carefully tested for its mineral content.

  • origin

The Matcha tea growing region is one of the best and oldest in Japan: the Uji region, west of Osaka. The region is known for its clean water and nutrient-rich soil, free of pesticides. The climate is ideal: mist from the Uji and Kizu rivers keeps the tea plants moist and reduces the risk of frost damage.

I start every day with Ceremonial Matcha. It gives me energy and a vitamin boost.

Nancy Tabillion

The Ceremonial Grade Matcha is incredibly smooth and pleasant. I've been drinking it daily for almost three years and can hardly imagine my routine without it.

Remé's Day
