Original handcrafted Matcha whisk made from 100% black bamboo!

Delicate bamboo whisk (Chasen) with 70 prongs. The whisk feels particularly light in the hand and provides a soft aroma.

With the fine whisks, Matcha tea can be quickly and easily stirred and whipped into a creamy consistency. Essential for the traditional preparation of Matcha tea.

Every broom is handcrafted and unique.

Care

CARE

After use, it is important to clean the matcha whisk with water only and not to use any detergent. To do this, simply hold the whisk under warm running water and gently wipe it with your hands. Alternatively, you can soak the whisk in warm water for 1 minute. After that, the preparation should be repeated completely without matcha powder to clean the whisk optimally. Now shake out the whisk briefly over the sink and be sure to let it dry with the struts facing down. Otherwise, mold could form in the handle. Ideally, you put the whisk in a corresponding matcha whisk holder "Chasen Yasume".

MANUFACTURE

The black bamboo has a diameter of 2 to 3 cm and a height of 3 to 5 meters. Only bamboo that is at least 2 years old is used for production. Pieces of bamboo are cut to fit the length. To make the struts, the inner material is removed. From the solid skin, 70 thin struts are now cut. A thread, which is attached to the end of the struts, provides the necessary support. The chasen not only robust, but also offers the fine matcha powder hardly any opportunity to adhere to the surface.The black bamboo is formed after about 8 months, when the culms gradually turn black and after 2 years black-purple. Therefore, it is also known as purple bamboo and is used for various bamboo works and ornamental bamboo because of its beautiful culms.
