Bamboo chashaku – light & dark
The Chashaku The chashaku is the traditional tool for measuring matcha. Made from natural bamboo, it allows for precise, clean removal of the matcha powder and is an integral part of classic matcha preparation. Our chashaku is in light and dark bamboo available and combines functionality with timeless aesthetics.
- Material: Natural bamboo
- Variants: Light bamboo & dark bamboo
- Use: Dosage of Matcha Powder
- Care: Clean dry, do not soak
Your matcha ritual begins here:
1. Dosage of matcha: Using a bamboo spoon or a teaspoon, add 1-2 slightly heaped teaspoons of matcha to your chawan.
2. Add water: Pour 70–100 ml of water (approx. 80 °C) into the bowl. Make sure the water is not boiling hot, so the matcha doesn't become bitter and its natural ingredients are preserved.
3. Serve: Beat the matcha with the chasen in quick W- or M-movements until a fine, fluffy layer of foam is formed.
4. Enjoy: Take a moment to consciously enjoy the freshly prepared matcha. In Japan, they say: "Itadakimasu" – as a sign of gratitude before drinking.

Light or dark bamboo – your style, your ritual
- Light bamboo: Natural, minimalist and classic – perfect for a bright, serene matcha setup.
- Dark bamboo: Expressive, elegant and modern – ideal for a high-contrast, contemporary matcha ritual.
Both versions are made of high-quality bamboo and are durable, lightweight and comfortable to handle.
Precise dosage for your matcha preparation
The chashaku allows for controlled and even portioning of matcha. Its curved shape is specially designed to gently scoop up fine matcha powder and dispense it directly into the matcha bowl. Ideal for anyone who prepares their matcha regularly and values consistent results.
