🧑‍🍳 Here's how – step by step

1. Prepare the cherries
Mash the cherries with a fork and heat in a small pan with maple syrup over low heat until a thick cherry purée forms. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly.

2. Whisk the Matcha
Health Bar Matcha with 50–60 ml hot water (not boiling) until smooth, or froth with a bamboo whisk.

3. Layer the glasses
Divide the cherry purée between two glasses. Add ice cubes on top, then fill up with cold plant milk.

4. Matcha on Top
Finally pour the Matcha over the milk – for a beautiful play of colours in the glass.

5. Enjoy
Optionally garnish with a cherry or a little mint & enjoy immediately.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • Use fresh cherries in season for an especially intense flavour – frozen cherries work all year round.
  • Want it fruitier? Add an extra 1 tsp lime juice to the cherry purée.
  • Want it creamier? Use coconut-rice milk or barista oat milk for extra smoothness.
Can I use the cherries raw too?

Yes – you can also purée the cherries directly and strain them. Warming them, however, creates a creamier consistency and more intense flavour.

Does the recipe also work without sweetener?

Absolutely! If you use very sweet cherries, you can simply leave out the maple syrup – our Matcha also pairs well with natural fruit sweetness.

Which milk works best?

Coconut-rice or oat milk is especially tasty – they harmonise wonderfully with the fruity note of the cherries and the Matcha.

How do I get the perfect layering?

Pour the Matcha very slowly over the back of a spoon or over ice cubes – that way it stays on top and only mixes in when you stir.
