What exactly is Hojicha?

Hojicha is roasted Japanese green tea. The roasting gives it its characteristic, warm aroma with notes of caramel, nut and light chocolate.

How does Hojicha differ from Matcha?

Matcha is intensely green, grassy and higher in caffeine. Hojicha is roasted, milder in flavour and considerably lower in caffeine.

When is the best time to drink Hojicha?

Best in the afternoon or evening – ideal when you want something warm or soothing without much caffeine.

Can I also drink Hojicha hot?

Yes – traditionally Hojicha is often even drunk hot as a tea or latte. As an iced latte, however, it's especially refreshing and modern.
