The Matcha Tahini squares are a nutty energy bar with an oriental note. The base is made from oats, hazelnuts and tahini, which are lightly roasted in the oven. The highlight is the topping made from our creamy HEALTHBAR Matcha Chocolate – optionally combined with white vegan chocolate for a pretty swirl. Perfect as a snack, for meal prep or as a little gift from the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 50 g oats
  • 2 tbsp ground hazelnuts
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • approx. 25 g chopped almonds
  • 80 g tahini
  • 70 g coconut blossom syrup
  • 50 g HEALTHBAR Matcha Chocolate
  • vegan white chocolate optional
  • some sesame

🧑‍🍳 Here's how – step by step

1. Make the dry mix
Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Combine oats, ground hazelnuts, salt, cinnamon and chopped almonds in a bowl.

2. Mix the batter
Add tahini and coconut blossom syrup and mix into a sticky mixture. Then press onto a baking tray with a moistened spoon and shape into a flat, square surface.

3. Bake
Bake in the oven for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden brown. Then let cool completely.

4. Matcha topping
Melt the HEALTHBAR Matcha Chocolate in a bain-marie and coat the baked mixture with it. Optionally melt white chocolate and work in a swirl pattern.

5. Cut and serve
Sprinkle with sesame and, once set, cut into wedges, bars or squares.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • For extra crunch, briefly toast the chopped almonds beforehand
  • In the fridge the squares keep for up to 7 days
  • Also works with cashew butter instead of tahini for a milder version
Can I replace the tahini?

Yes – cashew butter or almond butter work just as well, but with less sesame flavour.

Do the squares get hard in the fridge?

They become firmer but stay pleasantly soft and chewy.

Which sesame works best?

White sesame for a mild flavour, black sesame for more visual appeal.

Can I use regular chocolate as well?

Yes – but for the green colour and the unique flavour we strongly recommend the HEALTHBAR Matcha Chocolate

Can the squares be frozen?

Yes – they stay fresh and flavourful for up to 3 months.
