Matcha Whisk + Spoon Premium Set

CARE

After use, it is important to clean the matcha whisk with water only and not to use detergent. Simply hold the whisk under warm running water and gently brush it out with your hands. Alternatively, you can soak the whisk in warm water for 1 minute. The preparation should then be repeated without matcha powder in order to clean the whisk optimally. Now shake out the whisk briefly over the sink and leave to dry with the struts facing downwards. Otherwise, mold could form in the handle. Ideally, the whisk should be placed in a suitable "Chasen Yasume" matcha whisk holder.

The chashaku is not cleaned with water, but with a dry cloth. Store in a dry place.

PRODUCTION

The black bamboo has a diameter of 2 to 3 cm and a height of 3 to 5 meters. Only bamboo that is at least 2 years old is used for production. Pieces of bamboo are cut to length. The inner material is removed to make the struts. Now 70 thin struts are cut from the solid skin. A thread is attached to the end of the struts to provide the necessary support. The chasen is not only robust, but also offers the fine matcha powder hardly any opportunity to adhere to the surface.

The black bamboo develops after approx. 8 months, when the stalks gradually turn black and after 2 years turn black-violet. It is therefore also known as purple bamboo and is used for various bamboo works and as ornamental bamboo because of its beautiful culms.
