💡 Tips & Tricks

  • Use high-quality Matcha powder (ideally Ceremonial Grade for a sweet, mild flavour).
  • Mix with cold water.
  • Use a whisk, milk frother or shaker to fully emulsify the Matcha.
  • For a nice look: put the ice into the glass first, then pour in milk and finally the Matcha.
  • Choose plant-based milk to taste: oat is creamy, almond is light, soy is neutral.
  • Adjust the sweetness to taste: classically with syrup, healthily with agave/honey, or leave it sugar-free.
Which Matcha powder is best for an Iced Matcha Latte?

For the best flavour we recommend Ceremonial Grade Matcha. It is finer, sweeter and less bitter than other grades like Culinary and dissolves better.

Why does Matcha clump and how do I get it clump-free?

Matcha clumps when it's mixed with water that's too cold or if it's of lower quality. Most Matcha powders need to be sieved. Sieve the powder beforehand and mix it with water at 70–80 °C using a bamboo whisk, milk frother or shaker.

Tip: Our Organic Ceremonial Matcha doesn't clump!

Can you mix Matcha with cold milk too?

For an Iced Matcha Latte, the Matcha is mixed warm and then poured into cold milk. Mixing it directly with cold milk usually leads to clumps.

Is an Iced Matcha Latte healthy?

Yes, Matcha is rich in antioxidants and contains gently acting caffeine. With unsweetened plant-based milk the drink is particularly low in calories and sugar-free.
