What is Hojicha?

Hojicha This is the heart of our Evening Ritual: a traditionally roasted green tea from Japan, which gets its characteristically warm, slightly nutty flavor from the gentle roasting process. Naturally, it contains less caffeine than classic green teas – ideal for quiet evening moments.

You can find Hojicha in two forms at our store:

  • Organic Hojicha Tea (loose tea) – for a classic infusion ritual. Mild, clean in taste and perfect if you want to consciously take your time for the preparation.
  • Organic Hojicha Tea Powder (10g) – more intense in taste and versatile in use, e.g. for creamier drinks or a somewhat fuller taste experience in your evening ritual.

Why an evening ritual?

Not every day ends peacefully on its own. A small evening ritual can help you consciously switch off – without pressure, but with a feeling of arrival.

Hojicha (Powder) accompanies you with its warm, slightly nutty taste and naturally low caffeine content – ideal for the evening when you want to relax without staying awake.

The loose version has a particularly clear and delicate taste, while the powder has a slightly more intense and fuller effect – depending on how you want to design your ritual.

Not necessarily. A classic infusion is perfectly sufficient. However, tools like a chasen or a strainer can make your ritual more mindful and enjoyable – if you'd like to give yourself that little extra time.

Who is Hojicha suitable for?

Hojicha is a very mild tea and is well tolerated by many people. If you are sensitive to caffeine, it is a gentle alternative to classic green teas.
