  • 200 g sugar
  • 80 g coconut oil or melted vegan butter
  • 30 ml plant-based milk (e.g. oat or almond)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 150 g flour
  • 5 g Ceremonial Matcha –to the product
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 35 g powdered sugar (for rolling)

1. Preheat oven
Oven on170 °C top/bottom heatPreheat. Pour powdered sugar into a shallow bowl—this will later become the "sugar topping."

2. Mix liquid ingredients
In a large bowl, mix sugar, coconut oil, plant-based milk and vanilla until smooth.

3. Sift dry ingredients and fold in
Sift the flour, matcha, baking powder, and salt through a fine sieve into the mixture and mix with a spoon until a firm dough forms. The dough will be tough but easily moldable.

4.Form and roll dough balls
From the dough12 equal-sized ballsShape, roll in powdered sugar and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper – leave some space!

5. Bake & cool

Yes, if you want flavor AND color! Ceremonial grade is finely ground, mild in flavor, and provides the rich green color. Cheaper cooking matcha is often bitter and colorless after baking.
Why are the cookies soft after baking?

That's intentional! Crinkle cookies are soft and chewy on the inside. They harden slightly as they cool, but remain nice and soft – perfect!
Can I use less sugar?

You can reduce the sugar in the dough by about 20–30%. But keep in mind: The typical "crispy" surface is created by the sugar contrast—it won't work without it.
What is the best way to store cookies?

They'll keep for 4–5 days in a cookie tin or a glass jar with a lid. For longer, you can also freeze them and thaw them in batches.
