Why our Matcha tastes the way it does

It's no accident – but the result of traditional production.

  • First harvest: For particularly fine aromas and natural sweetness.
  • Shaded for up to 32 days: More chlorophyll, more umami and less bitterness.
  • Traditionally stone-ground: For an exceptionally fine texture.
  • From Uji, Japan: One of the most renowned Matcha regions in the world.

Warum schmeckt Matcha manchmal bitter?

FAQ

Schmeckt Matcha bitter?

Not when it's high quality. Our Ceremonial Matcha is especially mild, creamy and naturally sweet.

Is the Ceremonial Matcha suitable for beginners?

Yes. That's exactly what it was chosen for. Its balanced flavour profile makes it the ideal way to get started.

Can I also drink it as a Matcha Latte?

Absolutely. It works both pure and with oat, almond or cow's milk. Our recommendation: coconut rice milk!

Why is the first harvest so special?

The youngest leaves contain especially many fine aromatic compounds and give the smooth, balanced taste.

How do I prepare the Matcha?

Making your Matcha is this easy

  1. Add 1–2 bamboo spoons of Matcha to the bowl.
  2. Pour over water at 70–80 °C – or cold water if you're in a hurry.
  3. Whisk until creamy with the Chasen or a milk frother.
  4. Enjoy pure or with your favourite milk as a Matcha Latte.
